MP Justyne Caruana, Labour Party spokesperson for family, children and persons with disability, urges the government to set up Family Commission.
"We urge government to immediately set up a Family Commission to give priority to the wellbeing of our families and family policy," Caruana said.
The Labour Party tabled a parliamentary motion calling for the appointment of a permanent parliamentary committee on the family and a national commission for the family, however government's response was to set up a parliamentary sub-committee within the Social Affairs Committee.
Caruana said that to date the government has been dragging its feet to set up the Family Commission and its negatively effecting all families.
