It's down to Conscience
Maltastar (14-05-2010)

The turnout of events in Parliament last week was really a loss for all the Maltese. Not only was democracy sabotaged, but we saw an insensitive flock of sheep who voted in favour of a monster which will generate tons of toxic waste to the detriment of our health.

Both as a mother and as a representative of the people I voted in favour of the opposition’s motion against this atrocious decision. There is no room for interpretation about my vote, and whoever says otherwise is nothing more than a lying member of that same flock of sheep.

I really cannot understand how mothers and even a grandmother from government’s side could ever be accomplices in this atrocity. Mothers and a grandmother in the seat of power who voted against the motion! They had the power to turn tables and yet they still voted against their own children and their own grandchildren. They didn't put our health first, much less that of future generations.

Well who ever backed and voted in favour of the new power station must, if they have a conscience, have a heavy heart. They will have to bear this heavy weight for years and years to come especially when the incidence of sickness will increase as a consequence of the toxic material and pollution coming out of the BWSC prototype machine. We will be the guinea pigs of this technology which was never tested elsewhere before.

Our children will be the first worldwide to be effected by the BWSC monster and through the machinations of that flock of sheep in parliament last week, we have to worry about whether our children will be given a further and continued legacy of pollution and sickness – that is what PN’s vote really stood for.
