Introspection |
||||
| Maltastar (22-03-2008) | ||||
Introspection is a very important exercise which each and every one of us should endeavour to carry out on a regular basis or when the need arises. After the results of the last general election, our party must carry out this serious exercise to find out a winning formula. The starting point should be the finding of our flaws and strengths then eliminate the former and strengthen the latter.
As party we have grown stronger, increasing our votes and obtaining a majority of seats. In Gozo, considering that is a nationalist stronghold, we did extremely well with the Gozitans expressing themselves against the neglect and incompetence reflected in the reduction of votes of the established PN candidates. This is counter the situation vis-à-vis MLP candidates where we registered an increase in votes.

From the feminine side, as a party we managed to get the majority of female seats as well. The average age of our MP’s also decreased. This means that our side of Parliament will be more representative than Government side and we are all determined to deliver and achieve.
We still have the biggest hurdle of all and we still must go through a transition period due the change of leadership. A great man led us till now and for this we owe him a lot. We have to look forward now and be bold and full of courage. Big times lie ahead and we have to believe in ourselves and in our party. The sky is the limit so let’s pull up our sleeves and work our way through.
