Sound and Clear
Last Thursday, the message from the Gozitans was sound and clear: ‘We want a Labour Government’ and the sooner the better.
As one of the helpers I know asked what such an activity is all about. You go knocking on peoples’ doors asking for donations. It is a very arduous task knowing that our families are so much short of money due to high cost of living and other financial commitments. People tell you that they really want to give you more but cannot afford it. Our receipt books are not filled with ten pound donations but mostly with twos and sometimes even ones but we know that these donations are given with blessing and that is why we appreciate them even more and with immense gratitude. To collect such an amount we went to a lot of people – not only labourites but also a lot of nationalists – and they still gave us.
Our Labour family is expanding and at a very fast rate. People know our country needs Labour especially in Gozo where people really can take no more. This is making nationalist key people panic and they have every reason to be. We must be careful now more than ever and not take heed of malevolent rumours. One of them in fact concerns me. There are rumours that since I am pregnant I will not contest the general elections! Come on. They would wish I would not so that they will have one less to try and handle – and so far they did not manage. I will contest and there was never a question or a doubt about that. Now, more than ever, I have a major incentive to be on Malta Labour Party’s list of candidates – I want my baby to be part of the Malta Labour Party’s plan and benefit from the plan’s proposals and a corruption free government.
I will do my utmost to see Labour in Government – this is what Gozo and Malta deserve.
