Baby first’, ‘Do not work hard and take it easy’, ‘Read this book so you put off your mind a bit’, ‘Look after your health’. These are some of the recurrent “paternalistic” reproaches I get from our Leader Alfred Sant when we meet. He is always worried about others and concerned about the problems people spill out on him leaving his own at bay till never.
Such is this great and humble man who puts others’ needs before his own and who in this moment needs us all to pray for him. He is in rough weather but he is riding the high waves with spirit and I am sure he will be back shortly kicking and leading us again to gain our ultimate aim.
People all over the country are praying for him and continuously enquiring about the state of his health. Thousands of messages sent to him on One Radio show the great support and admiration people have for him and this certainly annihilates all the unjust and senseless criticism he has had to endure over the years by his opponents.
The rumours circulating were various and many were alarmed by what they heard.
However, there is only one truth – the operation was a success and very soon our beloved leader will be with us again in great shape and spirit. Till then dear leader we will be praying for you and think of you, waiting eagerly to have you back holding the reigns again not only of the party but also the country.
